Tele-medicine

We have recently set-up a tele-medicine clinic for our CADASIL patients.  This means that patients can have their follow-up consultations with Professor Hugh Markus over Skype (a video-call), rather than travelling to Addenbrooke’s hospital (Cambridge).

We are trialling this tele-medicine service because many patients have to travel from all over the UK to visit Cambridge in order to see Professor Hugh Markus, and we understand the difficulties associated with this.

The service is being funded for two years by a medical research grant from The Evelyn Trust

The Evelyn Trust reviewed our telemedicine service in their most recent newsletter. You can read this article here

Jessica Walsh is currently the coordinator for the tele-medicine clinic and is contacting patients to see who would be interested and to set-up these tele-medicine appointments.
